How can plastic straws be such a menace?
The human environment is awesome.
Whenever you throw away something
Like a Marine tossing jetsam,
It means that you value a treasure over nothing.
Plastic straws wash up on the shore
Which means that people are producing.
They clog up systems which make it a chore
We should be making more, not reducing.
Nature couldn’t care less about man.
Try negotiating with a storm.
The weather will crush you like a can.
Whether it’s too cold or more than warm.
When you see a candy wrapper by the wayside,
Do not think of waste.
Think of the brains that let such a thing to reside
Amongst the foliage that was “defaced.”
Only private property can resolve this mess.
To fossil fuels, gas guzzlers, and landfills say yes.
