The House Next Door - Part 1

Venturing into her world through her painting

The House next door is always quiet,

It's a bit spooky, and there's something that just doesn't feel right.

I have never seen a single soul around,

Or heard even a pin's dropping sound.

And yet the garden is filled with flowers blooming,

As if there's someone regularly doing their grooming.

The doors and windows don't carry a speck of dust,

As if their care has been put into someone's exclusive trust.

There were trees all around the house,

As if protecting it from intruders as quiet as a mouse.

Trying to uncover it's mystery, I once went up real close to it,

And I was feeling jittery the entire time, that I must admit.

The air was strangely fresh yet desolate,

Which was absolutely not helping my sorry state.

The house which gave a false hope of belongingness in the day light,

Had turned into a real spooky experience in the dark night.
