In the woods where shadows stray,

A hollow oak stands, beaten and gray.

It’s crooked branches scratch the skies,

Yet its sap flows where old leaves lie.

The RavenCaller pecks a branch

Squawking truths that slice, by a lance

“Eschew the dreams that chase the whole

Embrace the might of Perfection’s hold.”

**********************************************************************She looked again, the bird far from real

A wooden scarecrow without feel

Its hollow form, made with Craftsmen’s stick

The drawing call, a clever trick

The oak still stays, its roots still bind

Embracing scars that stay in the mind.

In broken forms, its beauty grows

The perfect lie the forest knows.
