Holiday

what ever do I say

things today aren't like growing up in the day

no celebrating Columbus

no taking the bus

to relatives

what gives

Thanksgiving is not about the Indians and pilgrims together

Although there are Christian Indians that do gather

For many it is about the harvest, the spirit dish, and thanking creator

then many would rather

not then or for Christmas

some cousins have giveaways

Christ isn't a part of their ways

Unless they were of a Christian faith, and some

then it may have gone on like when I was young

Christmas is Santa clause and presents

for most, decorations and ornaments

no midnight mass

no bible class

cultural contributions for an Indigenous day

creation is celebrated for many today

ancestry is supported as a time to celebrate

Native American Holidays are not set yet and one thing I can rate

is how we enjoy our feasting has no debate

I can give feasts a very high score on celebrating the Holidays in the east, south, west and north.

One thing we seem to all have in common in this country is feasting and celebrating the fourth

that hasn't appeared to change at least up north, and my guess is henceforth.
