The Hero Dog
A village touched by loss

The Hero Dog
On Little Street, where shadows creep,
A night fell cold, the village asleep.
A spark ignited, flames took hold,
Devouring timber, fierce and bold.
But through the smoke, a silhouette soared,
A valiant figure none ignored.
A dog named Scout, with eyes ablaze,
Raced through the fire, a daring maze.
His coat, once golden, now smeared with ash,
He leapt through windows, a thunderous crash.
One by one, he found the lost,
Each second passed, a fiery cost.
A baby’s cry, a mother’s plea,
He brought them back to safety free.
Through choking haze, through deafening roar,
He carried hope to the smoldering door.
The town awoke to Scout’s last feat,
His heart had stopped, his task complete.
They gathered ‘round, their eyes with tears,
And praised his courage through the years.
Now, on Little Street, a statue stands,
A dog immortalized by loving hands.
For bravery’s mark will never fade,
And Scout’s great sacrifice won’t ever fade.
