There’s a heartbreak that still lingers in my head

Knowing that there are many words that are left unsaid

It makes one question if we can possibly reconcile

Or is the romance between you & I really dead?

This heartbreak that still lingers is the type of sadness that has been difficult to comprehend.

There’s a heartbreak that still lingers in the night

With the emptiness and uncertainty that resides

The loneliness is present, a feeling that refuses to hide

A smile on my face is a façade that I have designed

So they do not see through the heartbreak that is within my eyes

Not wanting to expose that there are times

That I miss my love one so much, I would cry

I hope that there will be a day when I don’t have to pretend

And the heartbreak that lingers will finally mend

The fake laughs and unhappiness will come to an end

My voice won’t crack, like the depressed singers

That write and vocalize their music
