The Heart of Home

Always a Part of Me

By VPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

Mom,

I see the roads you walked alone,

The seed you planted, now fully grown.

The hands that worked, the nights you prayed,

The dreams you gave, the price you paid.

I feel the love in all you gave,

The quiet strength, the way you stayed.

Through every high, through every fall,

Your love has carried through it all.

Not just smiles, but through the pain,

Through every loss, through every gain.

You stood for all you knew was right,

You held the dark and called it light.

When I was weak, you held me strong,

You showed me where my soul belonged.

You believed in me when I could not see,

You fought for hope inside of me.

Not once did kindness leave your hands,

No matter if life changed the plans.

You built a life from dreams and dust,

You taught my heart how to trust.

A million moments I now see,

Were gifts you placed inside of me.

And though the years may come and go,

This kind of love will only grow.

So if today feels bright or grey,

Know you are loved beyond all days.

A light, a home, a life begun,

All built by you, the strongest one.

I carry you in things I do,

A part of me, a part of you.

And even when the world the world feels far,

You are my shelter. You are my star.

Love you always,

Your Daughter.
