The Haunting Questions of the Heart

Reflections on Love, Loss

By Rohitha LankaPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

Why do you mourn for my life?..

Is sadness coming to your entire life?..

Why do you still take your heart and crush it?..

Even if you don't know, I have already died...

Why do you love a dead body?..

Do you see honey in your two swollen eyes?..

For a bunch of flowers that have not bloomed on the top of your head..

Why did you write a poem after winning the victory?..

Even though I am covered in white cloth, who recognized my body today?..

After tomorrow, when I put this body on the grave..

Who will remember after seven days...

The day before yesterday, when I smiled brightly, looking at you..

Do you remember that you once loved me?..

And promised never to be separated?.

Stayed forever? When will the clouds in the sky...

When the sun sets today in the western sky...

We will not forget the past memories in secret...

Tomorrow, our hearts will be tied again and we will be happy like before..

I ask secretly whether we will be fooled by the world...

We will meet in the world..

This time, we will meet and suffer...

On the way, we will not meet again..

Next time, I will be free from the world...

Put the love I gave you at the bottom of your heart..

Sooth your heart with your eyes..

Like a spider, it weaves its web again and again..

Don't get entangled again in the name of love...

Fight one battle to get rid of the world..

Cross the fence and join the battle...

Between and apart again. Don't leave a table of contents..Make this body of mine a pleasure...
