The Haunting Of Car 17 - The Gathering

Part 5: Collaboration with Sharon

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

Electrically charged, they sound that bell

Increasing speed, now on a mission

With orders to fill, directly from hell

The steaming train wheels glow red, hissing

The chilling song the demons scream

Blocking with glee the prayers from heaven

Exposing the evil of its vilest dreams

Claiming each soul with its possession

The engineer plays the puppeteer

Pulling the strings to sound the whistle

Covering the cars and tracks with fear

Shooting its prey with barb like thistles

Numbing their sense of right and wrong

Filling their heads and hearts with venom

Knowing that now it won’t be long

Until each soul riding these tracks are condemned

Get ready to take a Dives & never be found in the bosom of Abraham. (cf. Luke 16:19ff)

This is truly a haunting and haunted poem. Good job in all aspects of the poem.

Oh, my! How can I top this!

You keep topping each other! Vocal needs a Scary or Horror tag for Poetry. When you're done, you should consider splitting it between the two of you and post it in two parts in the Horror Community, as well as leaving it here in poetry for everyone to enjoy. Seems to me like this could appeal to two different audiences. ⚡💙⚡

  • Oooo, it's like a concert from hell. Lol. Will there be a next part?
