The Guiding Light
A Poem of Resilience and Discovery

In the darkened hollow of a starless eve,
A lone beam cleaves through the quiet air.
Its glow trembles like a thought half-formed,
Flickering against the encroaching shadows,
Drawing lines where the unseen begins.
The trees loom tall, their limbs an endless maze,
Roots sprawled like tangled stories, unread.
Each step feels borrowed, each breath unearned,
Yet the light persists, guiding the uncertain,
A steadfast flame in the tide of black.
And then—
The shadows seem to lean away,
As if granting passage to the bold,
A silver horizon spills softly forward,
Revealing a path you did not know you sought.
No longer a prisoner to night’s grip,
You hold the lantern closer,
Its warmth more than its light—
A quiet promise that even the smallest glow
Can pierce the vastness of an unseen world.
