The Grandkids Are Able To Use Their Tablet To Call And Text Grandma And Grandpa
Oh no!! They send pictures and want to talk and talk and talk😂

There have been several text messages from each of the grandchildren in the photo above and phone calls from their tablets last night and today. They were approved and allowed to call and text anyone who has a Facebook account. This is a fair warning to family and friends.
They were so cute in the photo above. The bigger one carrying his little sister's backpack. They are about 10 months apart, in the same grade at school, and currently the same age. Eight years old.
They both talked to Grandpa and he told them both to call me a Monkey. They both said to me, that they know Grandpa is the Monkey. So, back and forth. I'm sure they will find someone more interesting to talk to than Grandpa and Grandma, but until they do...
We had a grandson that is living several hours away for an overnight, and it was going to be just one night. Before the pandemic, we would have grandchildren for a week at a time. When he was going to stay then until Wednesday that felt more like it.
We then got a playmate for him for what we thought was one night also. It was the young man above. He was happy to play games on his tablet and the other's phone.
Before you think that is all they did, it wasn't! Grandpa was teaching them to ride a 4-wheeler and they had target practice with bb guns. One of the boys brought his and the grandson from the cities was given a special one from Grandpa. His brother gave it to Grandpa. He died recently.
Each day they did situps and pushups and took a morning walk with Grandpa. We do prefer one grandchild at a time as then there are no disagreements and no loud voices. We found it is nice to have a playmate for a day or two at the most.
When I needed some humor to assist with the thoughts I invited some writing buddies to help me out, below is what happened as I offered to start. The parameters were a nonsense poem, a rhyme, or Dr. Suess-like! Something I could laugh at and I did! Thanks, ladies!

And I will start
and it's not because I'm a fart
what?
you're a nut?
not me but
I'm in a rut
need some humor
and don't start a rumor
Hubby is still living here
and so is a grand
time to take a stand
he was going home Sunday
not Monday
then Wednesday
then Thursday
then Friday
now Saturday??
A week is a norm
So why this storm
Let him stay a week
I don't understand this hide and seek
well, okay, it isn't that
John's a brat.
Put your foot down mister
take a stand sister
we want them for a week in the summer
why not just relax and not be a bummer.
🌸
And this is what I got back. Love those poetry sisters:

A rut you say
How can it be
Not the same rut as me
Or I’d see you here
Or somewhere near
There must be ruts most everywhere
As I’ve heard people talk of their own - I swear
I don’t like to swear,
But I’ve been known to curse
Not sure which one is worse.
I’m on the deck
Seeking an attitude change.
I figured, what the heck
I have a pain in my neck.
Or maybe I’m one 🤷🏻♀️
If not, Oh well I did my best
Now only I can change the rest.
Maybe a walk
To clear my head
Maybe a good book
And go back to bed.
I’m breathing
I’m upright
And life is exciting!
So no more talk of a rut
I’ll kick you in the butt.
I’m sorry, I’d kick myself first if I could
I really really really would!!!
🌸

I say
Tweak the week
So you’re at your peak
And not feeling weak
Peace is what you seek
Done being meek
Your lips must speak
Some havoc to wreak
Relationships might creak
People could freak
Eyes may begin to leak
As your lips do speak
About the peace, you seek
Love it and I could get more but this is being submitted today. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
Texting and calling Grandma and Grandpa won't go on forever. I know that as we currently have teenagers and adults that never call. Well, maybe if they need something!
Visiting for a week at a time with a break in between suites us just fine as it is good for the kids to have individual attention and fun for us old people to have our one-to-one time with them for a week and it keeps us content for awhile!
