The Good Old Days

They were happy times.

By Darla M SeelyPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

Remember when we used to wade in the creek,

We would play with marbles and play hide and seek?

Remember when we'd make angels in the snow,

Keep our doors unlocked no matter where we'd go?

Remember when we'd play games like Candy Land?

Some people loved going barefoot in the sand.

Remember when we'd roast marshmallows, hot dogs.

Some of the boys would collect lizards and frogs?

Going to boys, girls camp a few days was fun,

So was playing with toy soldiers, a squirt gun.

We would have fun riding a tube down a hill.

Snowball fights, making snowmen gave us a thrill.

Some children enjoyed being in a parade.

We loved playing card games like Fish and Old Maid.

At Christmas time we would sit on Santa's lap.

In Kindergarten we loved taking a nap.

As young girls we enjoyed playing with a doll.

Some of us used to love playing flag football.

Some of the kids loved throwing rocks in the lake.

We liked licking frosting on cupcakes we'd make.
