The Ghost Of Enemies Past
A face she thought she'd left behind, in a country far away, but here it was again, bringing memories of dismay.
The room was filled with cheer,
As Marie's name was called,
She'd won the challenge fair and square,
And she couldn't help but feel enthralled.
The prize was a chance to meet,
Cruella Devel, someone she'd always admired,
She couldn't wait to see,
The face that had inspired.
But as she stepped on stage,
Her heart began to race,
For standing there before her,
Was an enemy from a different place.
A face she thought she'd left behind,
In a country far away,
But here it was again,
Bringing memories of dismay.
How hadn't she seen it before?
Beneath the beautiful mask she adores
A closer look at Cruella was enough to know
Her greatest nemesis was here to gnaw
Marie's legs began to shake,
As she stood there in shock,
She couldn't believe her eyes,
As she faced her old foe.
But she gathered all her strength,
And stood her ground with grace,
For she knew that she was stronger now,
And no longer in that place.
So she faced the enemy head on,
And held her head up high,
For she knew that she had won,
This battle, at least, goodbye.
And as Marie walked away,
She knew she'd faced her fear,
And though the enemy was there,
She had nothing left to fear.
It was all a dream, an escape from Cruella Devel
