A Poem

Sometimes I don’t like waking mid-dream

Glimpses of other lives

Other possible realities

They’re why I don’t look in darkened mirrors

I see them

The other me’s

Sometimes I want to be them

Live their lives

But usually

I’d rather stay here

At least this is where I feel most real

Even if all I am

Is someone else’s dream

When reality gets too hard

To be them

Too hard to be another me

Maybe one day we’ll stop being them

And we can sit down and talk

Then when it all collapses into one

We can just be me
