The Garden of Life

There's always more to do, but I love it!

By Debora DyessPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

One potato, two potatoes, three potatoes, four...

I've fed the dog and the cats and done my laundry chore.

Five potatoes, six potatoes, seven potatoes, eight,

I've mended the fence but still need to fix that old gate.

Watermelon, sweet potato, corn, and zucchini --

When I punished Gabs for lying, she called me Grandma Meanie.

Summer squash, asparagus, tomatoes, Brussels' sprouts --

I'm gonna get my chores done (although I have my doubts)

One potato, two potatoes, three potatoes, four --

I've bathed the kids and done my chores and only have one more.

Five potatoes, six potatoes, seven potatoes, eight

Life is growing like a garden; and though busy, life is great!
