slosh and plunk
in the watering tin
squelch of wellies
sinking in
•
white jewel sun
glints overhead
diamond showers
on the soil bed
•
breeze carries
the nip of roses
earth turns sweetly
under noses
•
thumb-sized carrot
cracked over teeth
bursting sugar
notes of peat
•
scraped knee soothed
on shadowed ground
chilled fingers deep
in earth abound
