The Fungus Among Us

Soul Serach'N

By Dana ToliverPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The Fungus Among Us

I am battered and beaten

My abuser, a monster called Fungus

That lives among us

Hiding in the shadows

Disrupting our lives

In ways you don’t realize

Until one day you wake up

To a nightmare of non-living

Barely existing

The more you resist

The more the abuse persists

There’s a category five

Raging inside you

You try to run away

But you can not hide

From the beast inside

That’s eating you alive

I have been shattered and broken

By a monster called Fungus

That lives among us

It takes hold with its Molds

And won’t let go

It poisons your soul

You wake to realize

You’re in a fight for your life

Barely existing

You try to resist

But the abuse persists

There’s a raging storm inside

You try to run away

But you can not hide

From this beast inside

That’s eating you alive
