The fine art of shutting up

Knowing when to zip it

By pink_roseePublished 10 months ago 1 min read

Life would be a lot better

If we all just knew

When to shut up—

When to think things through.

Not every thought needs saying,

Not every word must land,

Sometimes silence speaks the loudest,

Sometimes stillness takes a stand.

When tempers rise like summer heat,

And pride begins to shout,

A moment’s pause, a breath held deep,

Could turn the flames right out.
