The Final Hour

a majora's mask poem

Clock Town

darkens

beneath the

approaching

moon,

sealing the fates

of those who

have yet to evacuate.

*

The final night

before all comes

to an end,

those who remain

are spending their last

moments in fear, denial,

sadness, love, dread,

and acceptance.

*

Their saving grace

comes from a boy

with an ocarina,

who goes back in

time, over and over

again, just to fix their

problems and heal the spirits.

*

And with that

comes four giants,

the only ones

that can stop

the moon from

crushing the town,

summoned by a melody

that sounds so sad.

*

As they are rescued,

they ask that their friend

be forgiven for his sins.

It’s not his fault,

the mask is just controlling

him.

*

The Skull Kid

laughs behind the

Majora’s Mask, a puppet

to its twisted game.

*

The giants are

summoned.

The town is

protected.

Skull Kid is

released.

And Link fights

the mask inside the

moon with a face.

What a perfect early reader fantasy story. Good job.

  • So the giants have any specific superpowers? Hehehe
