The Final Flame
Echoes of the Fireplace and the Family this Year
By Mike OwczarekPublished 23 days ago • 1 min read

Finally, we are all together.
For this is not the first time.
Chillier is the weather.
Peaceful is the mind.
We talk and reminisce -
painting a vivd picture
of memories that we miss
as our emotions are a mixture.
When we set the fire,
there is a chance to connect.
Our love for each other is dire -
now it is time for us to be direct.
The warmth is what we feel,
finding it more so from closeness.
The distance is too real.
The light is the hostess.
Opening up a room
that has heard so much.
With each in that we zoom,
there is a story as such.
Now a good thing,
heat comes from the last flame.
This night with family
will forever be the same.
