The Feeling Of Being Alone

My poem to describe a feeling of loneliness created by inequality, hate and judgement.

By Shiloh HoisingtonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Alone.

Once in the basking light of love,

The hard road and rocky cliff.

Drenched in the haunting feeling of what once was,

Never truly being whole.

What now is a lost dove,

Breaks and shatters the human rift.

No one in the winters night nor summers morning, is it a “just because?.”

Appearances and judgments leave the weak in tears.

Fear and rejection brings the shadowed soul to think...

“No one cares.”

The feeling of love becomes a haunting force,

Never being able to tell them the truth.

Thus drifting off course.

The soul says “I want to tell you the truth, but I don’t want to lose you.. poof...”

If we could all be equal,

If we could all be free.

Ones love could be another’s sanctuary.

If we could all love,

Love with out judgement and fear..

Then possibly..

We wouldn’t care.

We could all be in that high place with the dove.

We could all be out of darkness...

Instead of alone.
