The Eyes That Strive For Pride

Waking up on the wrong side of the bed is one thing,

More like an understatement if you ask me.

See I wake up with the eye for pride!

The kind that yearns for escape at the same time wants to hide.

I swear we live in such a blind eyed place.

That spills blood like a red-hot fireplace.

Life is what we call it, but I call it the maze for hate.

See I am no stranger to the spotlight, in fact I am addicted,

To the yellow sunshine that it brings after a long rainy day

When your mind feels like it is in storage, your sight starts to heal.

but all you see is orange Save yourself I always say.

Let us sprout our wings, break away and fly away.

High above in the bright blue sky, seeing all the green nature that.

God’s power brought into our lives.

I am different I can see,

I am different let me breath,

I am different it’s within me,

I am different just come and see,

I am different because I am unique,

I am different because I am free,

It’s not a hard concept to tackle.

Free just like a beautiful purple Grackle.

The colors are what fills me.

My integrity is what builds me,

My will power to see life in another glimpse,

Is what molds me.

I listen with my eyes,

& Change everything you naturally see,

What seems clear I take away,

And make reappear.

Yeah, I know it sounds good to see.

But if you cannot handle the red-hot seat

Do not try to be like me!

See I am girl, But still unique.

At times, my mood is blue.

Since life gives & takes time

I try to remain true.

& Relax my mind with the green that thrives,

Yet it brings me to such a peaceful mind,

I can almost feel it’s high trembling inside.

That is when all around me goes mellow,

With just a hint I start to see yellow,

And I know that shine means, I am still alive.

When my life feels it’s in dismay

I remember the colors and remember,

I have the power to make all negative things fade away.

Take a deep breath as you prepare,

because with eyes like mine they hold a mystery inside

I strive for pride, because I live with rainbows in my eyes.
