the eyes really do have it

all

in ascension to the stars

passing debris and on

into oblivion

in the bowels of the earth

in ancient caves engraved with

kneeling figures licked by torchlight

the eyes have had it all along

and have held potential

held my gaze for millennia

while in passing

all material

at the edge of time

and space

empties in a glance

with knowing that

the eyes have it

and we’re in agreement
