Skeletons are best left buried
Closets were made for something more
Past and present should not marry
Keep the peace tucked in the drawer
It’s like breathing under water
Swimming, freestyle, up the stream
As playfully wild as an otter
Finding a way to chase my dreams
Love and hate both walk a fine line
One of two sides of a coin
I’ve lost my words, a self made mime
Playing with hearts like they were toys
Vining like Tarzan in the jungle
Learn to take flight just like a dove
Of all the things that I have bungled
The last one standing for me, is love

The rhyme is back, and it dances along nicely. Like Dharrsheena, I liked these two lines: "Love and hate both walk a fine line One of two sides of a coin" And these two as well: "It’s like breathing under water Swimming, freestyle, up the stream"
I so love the flow of this and I love how you made the words work together <3
"Love and hate both walk a fine line One of two sides of a coin" I especially loved these lines!
Not a bad one to have left standing, if I do say so myself. Enjoyed this thoroughly, Kelli--the cadences, rhymes, whimsy, etc.
