Our earth spins
in the black abyss of space,
held in place by gravity's force
and lit by a blazing sun.
A horde of humans strive here
in this planet's wee dominion.
Whirling orbs of light,
we are souls bound to
a blue and cloud-banked world
suffering agonies of the damned--
so many trapped within
a fog of unmet yearnings.
Our earth spins
in a black abyss of greed--
yet we keep the faith
it is held by grace--
and lit by the love
of God's Son.
