The Enthused Dreamer

Excerpts of a Starving Artist

By Xxavier RobertsonPublished 7 years ago 1 min read
The Enthused Dreamer

The metropolitan area sits ablaze under the city lights, the moon & the stars

The metropolitan area sits alert by the distant dogs' barks, police sirens & honking cars

The Dreamer Lives Here

The dreamer looks on, outlined by the light yet filled in the by the dark, a war rages inside

Inside the dreamers fights the world in which his reality & dreams coincide

You see as he dreams chases, the dream phases

from “when” to “if”

From “Yes” to “maybe”

From “light to dark”

From “hope to doubt”

The Dreamer Lives Here

On the fountain of which he sits, there below him is the abyss

The abyss of failure

The abyss of giving up

The abyss of realizing maybe his dreams weren’t enough.

On the fountain on which he sits, there above him are the stars.

The stars of hope,

The stars of where dreams come to life.

The stars that he will call friends as he overcomes this strife.

The Dreamer Lives Here

The Enthused Dreamer and the starving artist crossed paths today.

My camera captured the 1000 words my mouth attempted to convey.

At the end of day, I’m not the meekest or the smartest.

I’m just a hopeless romantic & a starving artist
