The end is only the beginning
Holiday Reflections
The leaves have fallen
thus, autumn bids us farwell
and the evergreens rise,
with plenty to tell.
Cool winds of change
bring promises too
of something sprightly
and wholly anew.
Like a knock at the door,
instinct tells us it's coming,
so we step outside
and hear the sky humming.
The whole world pauses,
compelled to look up
at the white mocha clouds
about to erupt.
The snow flakes appear
and like perfect white lace,
leave propitious shapes
all over our face.
The branches are painted
by crystallized lips,
the lights all hung
by frosted fingertips.
And from those same fingers,
the whole house is kissed
by winter's new scents
not even attic ghosts can resist.
The children run outside
all glee and gay
building snowmen and angels,
they laugh as they play.
For granny’s dear sake,
we mend broken bonds
and now altogether
sing holiday songs.
The fireplace crackles
and lights up the room
where the table’s been set
so new memories may bloom.
A pearl canvas resets
the world as we know it
while the sun and moon pray
we mortals don't blow it.

Happy Holiday’s everyone!! :)
