Happiness is best with two or more. -Michelle Liew
This season, let's reach out to those who, for one reason or another, feel lonely.
**********************************************************************I
Sit
Myself
Cold dinner
Whispers of silence,
Haunted voices that seep through walls.
**********************************************************************Gone
The
have left
Empty chair
Its shadow stretches
A haunted memory in frost.
**********************************************************************Soft
Knock
On the
Wooden door
A stranger in need
Silence falters, slowly crumbles
**********************************************************************
Two
Hands
Now joined
Dinner warmed
The loneliness leaves
A meal shared chases the shadows.

I feel this loneliness so intensely, even when I have someone near. Holidays are so heavy for too many. Well written as always Michelle.

So true, there is always a heart to warm if we can fine it in our hearts. Lovely poem.

It's a tender poem. "A meal shared chases shadows" is a beautiful way to conclude.
