How I Learned to be Free

Where do I fit in the world?

Do I have a place?

After many agonizing hours I realized

I do not need to fit into this world.

I do not need a place in it.

I only need to fit inside of myself.

I am my best place.

There is only one question remaining.

Who are you?

Who are you in relation to yourself?

I hope you are not the decrepit home you drive by on purpose.

I hope to God,

To your God, not my God,

That you choose yourself on purpose.

It is no easy feat, no accidental victory.

Go on.

Try you on for size.

Fit inside of yourself.

Be your best place.

Let us sing of freedom together:

"We are our best place."
