The Dry Riverbed

a poem inspired by the environment and climate change

the dry riverbed by Solomon

In the heart of Earth's despair. Lies a riverbed, bleak and bare. Once a flowing ribbon of life. Now echoes a tale of endless strife.

Caressed by abuse, the land did weep. As nature's harmony sank so deep. Man's greed and heedless ways. Left the riverbed in a sorrowful haze.

Once vibrant waters danced with glee, Now a barren canvas for all to see. The sun's scorching kiss, unrelenting heat, Stripped the life, leaving naught but defeat.

Oh, how nature tried to find its way. But burdened by scars, it couldn't sway. The trees stood tall, their branches dry. Birds ceased their songs, and bid goodbye.

Silent cries echoed through the air. As the riverbed lay stripped and bare. Nature's resilience, tested and worn. Yet still, it yearned for hope to be reborn.

Let this solemn tale be a warning call. To cherish the Earth, one and all. For nature's beauty, fragile and rare. Deserves our love, our utmost care.

May we learn from this dry riverbed. To heal the wounds that Earth has bled. Restore the balance, nurture with grace. And let nature's resilience find its place.
