Let me sleep

I’m told a dream there is
a wish I want to be.
A place where goodness lives
in the land of the free.
A job, a family, a home,
a place under the sun.
A place that’s mine alone.
A place to go when my day is done.
Let it’s beauty fill my soul.
Let me know real peace.
Tell me to this dream I’ll go,
in a slumber that will never cease.
Let me dream the dream.
I don’t want to ever wake.
Give me this homespun scene,
whatever it may take.
I don’t want to be,
in a world of constant strife.
Oh please give to me,
a much better life.

Amen to that. Loved your poem!
I dream of a better life for my Grandchildren. I will be upgrading to vocal plus as soon as I know my stripe is connected. I think that what you are describing in your poem, is peace. A slumber that we all seek. I hope I find out if stripe is connected soon, so I can really be a part of this community. Writing for free makes me feel like a freeloader.
