The Dove of Peace

THE PIGEON OF PEACE

By Ali Sadeek AhmedPublished about a year ago 1 min read

The Dove of Peace

Wars rage across the lands,

In Palestine’s and Lebanon’s sands.

Iraq and Syria cry in despair,

Where is peace? Does it linger somewhere?

A seed was sown by cunning hands,

Promised growth in peaceful sands.

But it feeds on tears, thrives on pain,

A shadow grows where hope is slain.

The dove flies high, its wings distressed,

Searching skies for the oppressed.

Who’s the tyrant? Who’s the prey?

Has justice lost its rightful way?

Bombs and missiles scream of "law,"

While homes are crushed beneath their maw.

Children weep, their lives undone,

Under a sky that blocks the sun.

The dove cries loud, "This cannot stand!

Peace won’t rise by violent hands."

It soars and circles far and wide,

Seeking truth where lies collide.

So where is the dove of peace?

Lost, it roams through shattered dreams.

Its voice echoes in every place:

"Let love and justice heal this space."
