Come Back to Me

Return to me

By Ali Sadeek AhmedPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Come Back to Me

My beloved, love has grown stronger in your absence, so come back to me.

Sleepless nights lent strength to my writing, exhausting my hands completely.

My soul laments, and my heart, pierced by love, keeps my eyes awake.

Even my words almost perished in sorrow for my sake.

My beloved,

Longing has shattered my gaze; its waves cast my body ashore,

Dancing like the stars, mourning your absence evermore.

When will we meet again? Only then will my life feel alive.

Fate...

Fate is not my mastery;

Was it my destiny that you would drift so far away?

All my prayers plead for your return to a garden

Neglected and left unwatered.

Its plants nearly died of thirst;

The cure it needs is a simple stream.

You are the river's veil and its path,

If you block it, no water will flow.

The crops wither and die—

Would you accept such pain and woe?

Life fades, and absence is a calamity;

I beg you to hasten your return; do not linger endlessly.

Come back to me.

You are the moon, whose rising erases darkness, bringing light.

You are the breeze that makes trees sway after stillness, bringing them to life.

You are the morning, its tidings,

Its call, a herald of light,

Its melodies played in harmony.

All of nature rejoices,

Responding eagerly, calling out, "Come!"

Come back to me.

The bird struggles tirelessly,

Driven by love for its beloved,

Returning with its affection,

Embracing its mate and little ones,

Filling its nest with pure spirit.

Come back to me.

For I am pure, I am faithful,

And I am true, never betraying you—

For my life belongs to you.
