The Doorway

A Journey Through the Sinister Gates of the Mind

By Jason “Jay” BenskinPublished 9 months ago 1 min read
Painting Credit: Man in the doorway by Emily Gibson

I woke to walls stained with whispers,

Doors aflame, each a sinful kiss.

One bled black, urging me to flee,

Another wailed in agony.

-

The last was cold, a silent scream,

Untold tales lost in the dark dream.

I stepped inside, light erased,

The doors sealed tight, I was displaced.

-

Trapped in night, my soul undone,

The doorway beckons, calling all.

This emphasizes the process of exploration and discovery, the act of venturing into the unknown

One must be careful when approaching unknown doorways for one never knows where it will lead. If one hears whispers one should listen. Good job.

  • I woke to walls stained with whispers....that first line is stunning Another great story
