The Divergence of Souls

And how precious memories are

Memories…

Oh how they grow

Ever the more precious

As you slowly fade away.

Lost to your ever-looming fate,

As it takes away your body, your spirit,

And soon to be, your life.

I wish for your peace,

Free from the pains

Life has inflicted…

Yet I know in your peace,

I must lose you,

I must grieve what I have forever lost-

For there will be no new memories for us,

Only the songs of our adventures,

In life together.

But together no more,

As like a river,

Our paths must diverge.

Mine in life,

In experiences and living,

In the known.

Yours, in afterlife,

In what comes next,

In the unknown.

An adventure I cannot join you on.

But that others, once lost,

May be with you once more.

Give my love to those waiting for you,

As my chosen family might finally meet my blood,

And give my little love all of the big pats she so loved.

For soon, we will part…

Into our future's,

No longer joined…

No longer hand in hand,

But always in heart and soul,

Where we will someday find each other again.
