The Devil's Work
Discovering the Darkness Within His Heart
By Jo SeversonPublished 8 years ago • 1 min read

I never truly saw your shadow until it devoured me whole
Your bewildering pain you falsely titled as "love" smashed my brain upon the canvas for the world to see.
I was no longer pieced together strategically and lovingly, as my soul was sedated and captured by the clutches of whatever darkness you created.
The hatred I had for myself was now heightened and severe, but yet seemed less severe than losing the terminal illness of a person you had become.
My brain and heart were frail, both scattered at the loss of inspiration and overall hope I once had.
Holding onto you killed me slowly, yet I woke up in enough time to save myself from what I thought was saving me.
