The Devil on my shoulder

A poem

An angel on one shoulder

A devil on the other

In between the two is my own reckless mind.

A battle between the three

Rages on every moment in time.

It gets hard to tell who's voice is whose

Scrambled

The devil playing the angel

The angel sounding like the devil

My mad mind playing out both sides.

Outside voices are no easier to discern at times

Blending with my own voices

Right or wrong?

This way or that?

My moral compass

Sometimes seems to even let me down

But there is one voice inside I trust

One that has not steered me wrong

The voice of the universe

And it holds me down strong.
