The deadly bite
A deadly trap for dog not man. It backfired

The deadly bite
She handed the nuisance dog
a poison apple, red and gleaming,
a quiet smile on her lips,
a plan blooming like a dark flower.
The dog, tail wagging,
took the gift in gentle jaws,
trusting, unknowing,
its heart too simple for schemes.
Through garden gates,
down worn paths,
it carried the deadly prize,
a silent messenger.
And there, the owner —
unsuspecting, soft with love —
took the apple from loyal teeth,
a reward for devotion.
A single bite.
The dog sat waiting a reward,
tail still thumping
as the world tilted
and the sky darkened.
The poison found its mark,
not in the beast,
but in the hand
that loved fed it.

Holy crapola that ending g was a shock!! Fantastic.
This is a Snow White themed poem. Good job
Love how this flips the script—plot twist with a wagging tail! Next time, maybe just block his number?
I love this ! Your writing always makes me bar bend. Bitter fruit and bitter ends— She watched from the shadows, a ghost of old vows and venom, her hands clean but her heart stained. The dog, still faithful, still waiting for praise, sat by the fallen man, ears pricked for a voice that would never come. She turned then, her work done, the night swallowing her whole, a widow by her own design.
Some serious reader engagement here by way of some excellent poetry and formatting! Dark and powerful!
