The Day Silence Spoke
When silence spoke, the world was never the same
When the world fell quiet,
Not a whisper, not a sound—
No birds in the sky, no engines on ground.
Yet from the stillness, a voice arose,
Speaking truths no one supposed.
Half the world stood frozen in fear,
Half the world strained just to hear,
What secret words did silence keep?
Why did the quiet suddenly speak?
Scientists scrambled, philosophers sighed,
Theories collided, no one denied—
This was no dream, no trick of the mind,
But a cosmic riddle, hard to unwind.
How was silence given a tongue?
How did the unheard become unsung?
The earth held its breath, the stars leaned in—
To listen to what silence would begin.
Ancient echoes stirred, forgotten tales awakened,
Hearts trembled, and time itself was shaken.
Could this voice be a call from deep within,
Or a message from where all life begins?

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
