The Day’s Moon

A celestial inspiration

By Kindrela CulverPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

The truth is-I was jealous. I barely knew her but she seemed to be the epitome of me. Every picture was interesting and beautiful. Plus, he liked me but I was convinced he loved her. I felt inferior.

I went to walk it off; get rid of the gnawing feelings. Then I looked up... there she was.

The moon-Right across from the sun, reflecting light and sharing the sky.

Thus, she became my celestial wonder.

I am the day’s moon

Appearing in the blue

Across from the sun

Enjoying the view

Picturesque

One of a kind

Simply exquisite

With beauty that blinds

Cameras can’t capture

The intensity of her glow

She is shade

Hence, the rainbow

A celestial wonder

A warm delight

A beauty divine

Oh, I’ll miss her tonight

To watch her leave

Is to see the best show

For she colors our sky

As she sets on the plateau

Farewell, my friend

I know you must go

Awaken the East

I’ll see you tomorrow

Now, I reflect

On the majesty of my light

In the presence of the sun

I still shine bright
