because the darkness is incendiary. #blm
to reject the darkness is not to embrace the light,
but to fear its power.
to lay waste to the darkness’ table,
to sit and to feast,
but to not offer lodging.
to fill your tongue with words bred of contemptment,
only to mask the horror.
to cast shadows along the jealousy,
in knowing,
in anticipation.
because the darkness is incendiary.
the darkness takes insult to injury,
and turns their scars into flames.
the darkness cannot be outshined,
because it is and it always was and it always will be.
the darkness knows pain.
and because of it the darkness knows power.
the darkness is versatility.
it’s light and it’s shadow.
it’s the sun and the stars.
the moon is its father and it’s craters the lashes it bore to protect its children.
