What is there to say

On the darkest of days

What is there to do

When hope falls through

Why, oh Lord, am I here

Was there no answer near

Was I not to fear

Were you unable to hear

In the face of such loss

The sun’s shine seems lost

The joy for tomorrow seems tossed

There is only sorrow in my thoughts

What is there to say

When there is no way

What good are remedies

When the moments have become memories

To you, I say, let the memories flourish

Let not the moments

Cease to live

Let not the pain

Rob from the present

Let not the joy

Forget the past

Let not the anger

Paralyze the future

What is there to say

When darkness leads astray

How can we forgive

When we no longer strive to live

To you, I say, live on

Prove to the night

That the dawn still comes

Prove to the seas

That the tides still resign

Prove to the storm

That the winds will cease

Prove to the grief

That the peace will return

Prove to death

That you still love

Prove to yourself

The you still breathe

To you, I say, live on
