The Dangerous Sands of Morecambe Bay
So many have lost their life cockle picking there

The Dangerous Sands of Morecambe Bay
In the hush of Morecambe Bay, where the waters meet the land,
golden grains shimmer in the sun, an inviting, soft strand.
Yet danger dances lightly upon the shifting sands,
where the tide whispers secrets and mystery expands.
Many lives have been lost on these treacherous shores,
cockle pickers once hopeful, now silenced by ocean roars.
As the water rolls in, swift and all-consuming,
it cuts them off from safety as the danger is looming.
With every step, a story waits beneath the skies’ embrace,
quick-sands hide their secrets in this wild, enchanting place.
A beauty that ensnares the heart with promises untold,
the tide comes rolling swiftly, fierce and uncontrolled.
Walking on the borders of elegance and plight,
the horizon gleams with charm as day surrenders light.
But heed the ancient warnings, let caution be your guide,
for the bay’s allure can captivate, yet swiftly turn the tide.
The sunsets cloak the waters in hues of fiery red,
a picturesque illusion of stories left unsaid.
So cherish the allure, admire the bay’s cool sway,
however remember, oh dear traveler, danger is in the play.
As the evening settles in, shadows softly blend,
respect the depths of Morecambe Bay, where lives can meet their end.
For beneath its beauty lies a truth so lous and clear,
a reminder that the sea holds both wonder and fear.

Walking near any beautiful shoreline one must address the surroundings and pay attention no matter how hard it may be for one enjoying such a place of fun and solitude. Good job.
A beautiful but dangerous place
A beautifully haunting piece that captures the duality of nature—its allure and its peril. It’s a poetic reminder to admire beauty but respect its dangers. A truly thought-provoking and evocative work! 🌟
