The Dance

Dancing to a different beat

Our first interactions became a dance I was not familiar with

The beat threw me off like a kid trying to gain their balance on their first time riding a bike

The movements of our bodies didn't mesh together

One of us was dancing to a different beat

Shortly after

the music faded and the dance stopped

Year's after that moment

We started dancing again

Only this time around

The dance didn't end

It became challenging

Challenging because our bodies still didn't mesh together

We danced in circles with each other's hearts and found ourselves emotionally tied to a fantasy that more than likely will never be real

And although that may have been the case

Somehow We’ve grown to like the rhythm
