The Dance of Flames

A Poem that Burns Through Time

By Muhammad AslamPublished about a year ago 1 min read

A spark appears in the darkness,

A flash, a whisper, it bites in the darkness.

A breath of life born out of friction

It dances and swings, slicing through the conflict.

The ember becomes redder and orange,

A beast that needs to be fed—it is ravenous.

In a frenzied ballet, it climbs and leaps.

devouring all that dares to remain.

With a voice so magnificent, it crackles and roars.

An innate power that is unstoppable.

However, there is a grace within it.

A brightness, a warmth, in its flaming embrace.

Watch out for flames that burn too brightly,

as they have the potential to scorch and spread quickly.

A foe in the field, but a friend in the home,

A sword with two edges that is unyielding.

Sighing as it goes out, the fire

A soft radiance, fading gradually.

However, new life will emerge from the ashes,

The fire never really goes out, just like life.
