I'm crawling out of this crypt with a heaviness
To my bones and soul that wasn't there
When I first came down here for a little nap.
The cover laying across me, old marble and dust,
Is an impossible thing to move but it groans and grinds
Like the deep crevices of my joints and obeys.
Clattering to the floor, the sound cracks a whip
Through a space that has long been silent.
.
It's like waking to another reality.
Stars I don't know flurry overhead with a warning
Written in a language I don't even recognize.
The ground is cold and my body unwilling,
But I've slept too long, through the end of this universe,
And now the world is dark, the hallway stretching ahead,
Fathomless in its emptiness and still I crawl.
Because I'm an oversleeping fool still stuck in my dreams
Expect that the universe, dead and gone, is still
Somehow, thinking of me.

This was such a cinematic and beautifully written poem, Silver! I adored, "Stars I don't know flurry overhead with a warning Written in a language I don't even recognize." The excellence of your work is just so consistent time after time!
I can't help but imagine someone waking up a couple hundred year nap, and having to maneuver in today's world. or maybe someone just "waking up" to reallity. Excellent work - love this part "heaviness To my bones and soul that wasn't there When I first came down here for a little nap."
My mind kept applying this to so many things, what a visual and an idea you present with your brilliant words.
Very good work, congrats 👏
