The Cowboy Lost His Horse

A cowboy roamed the endless plains,

His heart now heavy, filled with pains.

His horse, a friend, was lost to the night,

Leaving him alone, beneath the pale moonlight.

With every hoofbeat echoing in his mind,

He searched the hills, but fate was unkind.

The wind whispered secrets,

the stars showed their grace,

Yet all he felt was an empty space.

He recalled the moments they’d shared on the ride,

The laughter, the freedom, with no need to hide.

Now shadows surrounded him, quiet and deep,

A bond once so vibrant reduced to a weep.

But a cowboy’s heart is rugged and true,

He’ll carry her memory, in all that he’ll do.

he rides on with courage, though life feels amiss,

For the love of his horse remains in each wish.

A gunshot spooked her, off she went at speed away

In his heart he knew that he had lost her that day

His heart felt heavy, inside he was so sad

He had lost the truest friend he had ever had.
