lie- threads

Smooth, seamless.

Words silken flow

Rest their nagging fears,

Boosting their misplaced trust.

Taste of their thanks sweetens his tongue.

They think they’re scot free, he feels he’s won.

Too late, ripping hooks tear through his thick skin.
