In the beginning
What seems to me now, many lives ago,
There was dark and there was wet.
A world of chaos, dissent. Ever spinning.
And yet...
In the damp black, a voice beamed white
In darkness, sweet ray of light.
“My little one, it’s going to be alright.”
Forced out swiftly
My cocoon ruptured beneath me
Behold a place
Drenched in hue
Yet muted in view.
What seemed like eternal monochrome
Broke suddenly with new unknown.
A language of sapphire ocean and iris and eye.
The strange wavelengths of grass, earth and sky.
For many moons
i had taken comfort wholeheartedly
In the muted darkness. A safety.
The eggshell had shattered suddenly.
It was gone now,
i mourned my sanctuary.
Plunged in a world of plum and indigo
Who was i?
Released from your hold, moments ago.
These pigments greeting my minds eye.
Am i dark like the earth?
Pale like the snow peaks or clouds in sky?
Amethyst or jade?
My soul on fire.
It whispers, unfazed.
This my birth.
I must find my way now,
We cannot,
should not reverse.
Search for your true color somehow.
The Fire! Burning crimson inside.
Pay no mind to the envelope.
Persists. Explore. Resist. Abide.
Your compass is your glowing, chromatic soul.
Your soul is awakened.
Your soul is alive.
