The Colour of True Love
How my German Shepherd changed me
By Cheryl ChanPublished 5 years ago • 1 min read

They called her trouble
So why did she melt
Like strawberry ice cream
Right into my arms?
Sweeter than all summer
Didn’t know a good human
But still fluttered her eyes
Like young rose petals
Seeing me for the first time.
How are you full of so much love?
How are you full of so much love?
When she sleeps by my side
My heart is cotton candy
Growing, growing, sugar spun
Fed by the perpetual motion
Of her love.
For her, I am soft yet strong like a pastel sunset
For her, I am a flamingo
Never afraid to put my head underwater
For her, I am the side of the peach that faces the sun,
For I am young again
I am full of so much love.
I am full of so much love.
Who knew a little dog
Could teach me so much.
